Choosing the Right

Roll Off Dumpster

Selecting the right roll off dumpster size is important for keeping your project efficient and within legal hauling limits. Our team can help you choose the most appropriate dumpster rental for your construction or demolition project in Baltimore, Washington D.C., or anywhere in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the surrounding region.

For most construction and renovation projects, we typically recommend a 20 cubic yard or 30 cubic yard dumpster. The best option depends on the type and weight of the material you are disposing of.

Our roll off trucks can legally haul 12 to 15 tons of material. A 30 cubic yard dumpster filled with standard construction debris such as wood, drywall, roofing materials, metal, and other interior or exterior finishes will typically weigh between 4 and 6 tons.

Heavier materials such as asphalt, concrete, or soil usually fill only about 20 cubic yards or less before reaching legal weight limits. These types of materials may require additional dumpsters to prevent overloading and avoid DOT fines.
